Our Mission
NextDesk Project was established to support students whose educational participation is limited by insufficient access to technology. As online and virtual learning options expand across Alabama, many families continue to face challenges securing reliable computing devices for their children.
Our organization focuses exclusively on this gap by sourcing, preparing, and distributing computers to eligible K-12 students enrolled in full-time online learning environments.
NextDesk Project operates as an Alabama-based nonprofit and serves students statewide as resources allow.
How It Works
Step 1
Resource Acquisition
Funding is secured primarily through grants and institutional support to acquire cost-effective, student-ready computing devices.
Step 2
Device Preparation
Devices are standardized, configured, and prepared for educational use to ensure consistency and ease of deployment.
Step 3
Distribution
Computers are distributed to eligible Alabama K-12 students enrolled in full-time online learning programs, with prioritization based on demonstrated need.

Use of Funds
At NextDesk Project, no one associated with the project gets paid. Volunteer workers provide administrative support, computer preparation, shipping, and any other labor needs. Funds provided to the project go toward:
- Acquisition of cost-effective computing devices
- Device preparation hardware, software, or other needs
- Secure packaging and distribution
- Non-labor administrative costs such as supplies or domain fees
